Study Finds Humor Only Effective Concealer for Unattractive Individuals

GREEN BAY—In a stunning revelation, researchers at the University of Wisconsin Green Bay have found that comedic talent now ranks as the number one way to divert attention from one’s unattractive features. “Our study suggests that if you can make them laugh, they won’t remember what you look like,” said lead researcher Dr. Melvin Yoder.

Participants in the study repeatedly reported that a good sense of humor could eclipse even the most glaring of physical shortcomings. “It’s true,” admitted one participant, Jerry Wickers. “I crack one joke about airplane food, and suddenly, no one recalls my unibrow.”

As an added discovery, the study humorously noted those relying solely on self-deprecating jokes often found audiences too distracted by laughter to notice missing teeth. “Confidence in your comedy can draw the focus away from everything else,” said Dr. Yoder. “Though we don’t recommend relying on knock-knock jokes in professional headshots just yet.”
